The 5th installment of the scheduled Zoom WOD (workout of the day) I do with my coworker Eli. I had to skip #4 earlier this week because of a meeting conflict, but my partner went ahead without me.

Today happens to be the first day of 8th grade in-person classes for many schools in New York City, including my daughter’s school in Chelsea. Traffic was about normal, but there was a Yeshiva school bus on Myrtle Avenue that slowed us down by five minutes on our way to the Manhattan Bridge. We arrived at the school around 8:20, and I gave her a metro card and $20 (just in case). Her twin sister attended her first in-person class of the year yesterday – without any complications.
I looked out of the windshield, and noticed a line of kids. My daughter looked up from her phone, and told me that the president just announced that he and his wife have tested positive for the corona virus.
